Ferrari World
One design issue that was never in question at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi was the colour of the roof cladding. Ferrari red was the only colour under discussion for this giant building whose roof, splatted like an outsize starfish onto Yas Island, apparently mimics the double-curvature of the side elevation of a Ferrari GT.

Treatment Plant
Southwest from Paris, just 1km from the Porte de Versailles and within view of the Eiffel Tower, the town of Issy-les-Moulineaux sits on the bank of the River Seine. It has undertaken a commitment that all its major buildings should be of high environmental quality, and this is evident in one new structure, with its green roof and its river frontage half hidden behind trees planted on the upper levels. It is therefore surprising at first to discover that this building in such a prime position is fulfilling the decidedly unglamorous function of a plant for sorting and treating waste.

Barco Headquarters
Barco, a global provider of audiovisual solutions, has just opened its new headquarters in Kortrijk (Belgium) which will bring the company’s 1,250 Belgian employees into one location. At the centre of the 230,000 square metre site is ‘The Circle’, a landmark new building which provides a direct link between head office staff, R&D, production, and Barco’s international customer base.
